I suspect that PhoneView has to reboot the IPT because the synced data integrates with IPT's built-in databases (contacts, notes, etc.) FileMagnet is just an app to app/viewer sync of non built-in data, so it doesn't need a reboot. I don't think there's a PC desktop version at this point. I think, though, that FileMagnet is a one-way sync from the mac to Touch. I figure since FileMagnet can do it, then others should be able to produce comparable software for syncing that doesn't require you to jump through hoops. (I didn't try syncing the original spreadsheet file.) For example, today I converted an Excel file into PDF, synced to the IPT and was able to view it there, portrait or landscape and any size.
